I’m Eric Montaño—a proud veteran, dedicated public servant, and long-time resident of Valencia County. After serving 20 years in the United States Air Force, I continued my commitment to protecting and serving others through a career in civilian law enforcement. With over 30 years of combined experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge, integrity, and leadership to everything I do.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Law Enforcement and Corrections. These academic achievements, along with my professional background, have strengthened my dedication to honesty, accountability, and service to my community.
For the past two decades, I’ve proudly called Valencia County my home.
My journey toward running for Magistrate Judge comes from decades of firsthand experience in law enforcement and leadership. I’ve seen the importance of fair judgment, balanced decision-making, and compassion in every situation. Those values have shaped who I am and how I serve.
In addition to public service, I’m a small business owner and an active member of my church, where I enjoy serving alongside others who care deeply about our community.
What makes me different is simple: I lead with faith, humility, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact. My goal is to serve the people of Valencia County with honesty, respect, and fairness — ensuring that justice is not only served but also seen in the way we treat one another.
